After losing to Shaker two days earlier, the Bethlehem boys soccer team held on for a 2-1 Suburban Council victory over Shenendehowa Thursday, Sept. 10, in Delmar.
Sedef Ishaque and Natalie Rumpelt each won a pair of individual events to lead the Shaker girls swim team to a season-opening 105-81 victory over Ballston Spa Wednesday, Sept. 9.

In 2006, the Pew Research Center out of Washington D.C. estimated that 5 percent of all adults play fantasy sports, two-thirds of whom played fantasy football. Fantasy sports may lend credit to baseball for its origins, but football reigns as the Mack Daddy of them all.
Class began every summer afternoon on the ballfield at Bethlehem Central Middle School. The crunch of gravel underneath Jesse Braverman’s beat-up Ford Escort could be heard as he promptly rolled in at noon. He’d step out of the car with as many as 50 to 70 neighborhood kids already waiting for him. Instead of a syllabus, Braverman would pull out bags of helmets, bats and baseballs. It was the School of Baseball and class was now in session. In time, kids would simply call it “Jesse Ball.”

CBA traveled to Glenville to take on BHBS. The game was Senior Night for the Spartans and they came out strong, scoring four goals in the first period. BHBS won the contest 4-0.
